The patented F.I.T. system developed by Montague engineers, and found on all their bikes, uses a system that does not cut any tubes in half. In fact, when looking at their bikes, it is not immediately clear how they fold, or even that they fold at all. They use their patented Concentrus system, which is a tube within a tube design that actually strengthens the frame by incorporating technology found on some high performance, dual suspension mountain bikes.
This technology was developed by Montague for military use and is covered under numerous patents worldwide.
No tools are required to fold and unfold Montague bicycles. Simply remove the front wheel and unlock one frame quick release. This can be done in a matter of seconds allowing the bike to be stored with ease in your car boot, boat, plane, cupboard, or anywhere else you stash your gear.
The foundation of all the Montague bikes is their award winning, patented folding frame design, Folding Integrated Technology. F.I.T. utilizes the seat tube as the pivot point frame, secured by a quick release lever, which allows the front frame to pivot around and fold neatly into the rear frame. Unlike other folding bikes on the market that sever frame tubes to accomplish folding, no tubes are cut or altered on their bikes, giving you rock solid performance.

Industry standard components mean maintenance is as simple and convenient as it would be with a conventional bike. Quickly folding down to a compact 3' X 3' X 1', without the use of tools, they can be conveniently stored in a car, boat, plane, office, or cupboard.
Montague bikes can be taken as stored luggage on commercial airplane flights, trains and buses.

All Montague bikes feature the CLIX Wheel Release System to ensure that removing and installing your front wheel is as easy as possbile. With CLIX, the front wheel clicks into place with the flick of a lever.
The CLIX bicycle wheel release system, winner of a Eurobike Design Award, is an innovative quick release system that makes taking your bikes front wheel on and off faster, easier and more intuitive.
The development of this new technology was inspired by the frequent misuse of the traditional quick release system. Bicycles with the CLIX QR from CLIX Systems, Inc. are revolutionizing the cycling industry from the casual rider to the performance racer.

All Folding Bikes are thoroughly prepared and checked in the workshop (unless we state otherwise on Sale models) in order to validate the warranties, this involves a thorough setup and adjustment of spokes, bearings, brakes, gears (stops and cable adjustment). The chainset and crank, handlebars and all nuts and bolts are checked for tightness and the pedals fitted. Finally the tyre pressures are set and the folding joints and all quick releases are lubricated and adjusted. After a brief test ride (mainly indoor) they are then carefully packed back into the original boxes using appropriate packaging, this means that the bikes when received and unfolded are ‘ready to ride’ . All 26” wheel Dahon bikes arrive in the UK in boxes with the frame unfolded but the bike partially dismantled. We have taken the decision that in order to properly achieve our highest aim and that of the responsible manufacturers with whom we liase, that we therefore, properly prepare then fold the completed bike with only the handlebar removed, it is therefore necessary for us to repackage the bike accordingly on account of it’s larger size when assembled.
