Mobiky Genius - the small wheeled chunky tyred folding bike, with a host of compelling reasons as to why it’s ideal for commuters.
|
|
|
- Neat and compact when fully folded - wheelable and ultra manoeuvrable when half folded - addictively and reassuringly rideable when fully unfolded.

The Mobiky Genius has a unique folding mechanism, which allows the bike to be folded/unfolded in a short space of time, without unscrewing or dismantling. In fact the fold can be carried out on the move, ideal for the last minute dash to the train!

All the settings on the Genius have been engineered in order to offer its owners the widest choice of adjustments possible. In simple steps, the rider can change the height of the saddle and handlebars to suit a cyclist from 4’ 4” to 6 foot and maximum load up to 230 LBS. All of the family can use the same bike !!

Whether on the station platform, in the office or shopping, you’ll never be hindered by the Genius. Fold it into the walking position and push it by your side without any effort. It can be rolled anywhere you want to go or carried using the padded carrying handle. No more problem finding your bike stolen when you return to the station.

All frame and tube sections which make up the structure are aluminum Type 6061. The die cast main frame (where most of the pressure brought to bear upon) is aluminium AS6G7
The chains are specially developed to resist normal external conditions, they do not require any particular maintenance or greasing. They offer reliability even when exposed to different environments such as by the sea or on board a yacht. If dirt does build up on the links (mud, sand or grease) we recommend cleaning products sold only by specialist retailers.
A 3 speed STURMEY ARCHER Type S-RB3 internal gear hub is fitted on the rear wheel. It is fully encased within the aluminum hub shell and no maintenance is required.

A useful YOU TUBE video that will give you an idea of how versatile the bike really is can be seen by using this link. MOBIKY
We do not however, condone the possible irresponsible manner in which the bike is ridden in public places on this demonstration, with little regard for his own or other peoples safety !!

We rather like the Mobiky and consider it to be well engineered for it’s purpose of a mile or two short distance commuting. The main hinges rotate on journal bearings for reliability, the gearing is pitched sensibly, the bike is extremely stable to ride, an attribute which surprised us given the small wheels. An unusual but useful feature is the carrying handle, but the really clever part in the design of this bike, is the ability to wheel the part folded bike, as this is always much easier than carrying a bike a distance however light it may be.

You should also remember, that in purchasing from a bicycle shop like ourselves, the bike will be fully prepared and checked in our workshop before despatch.

The free Mobiky Carrying bag is the latest bag that the company can supply for the Genius. It is a zip-up bag with carrying handles and is all that is necessary for the purpose. We wish to point out in order to be fair that this is not the part padded bag that was available originally from Mobiky at £69.99

All Folding Bikes are thoroughly prepared and checked in the workshop in order to validate the warranties, this involves a thorough setup and adjustment of spokes, bearings, brakes, gears (stops and cable adjustment). The chainset and crank, handlebars and all nuts and bolts are checked for tightness and the pedals fitted. Finally the tyre pressures are set and the folding joints and all quick releases are lubricated and adjusted. After a brief test ride (mainly indoor) they are then carefully packed back into the original boxes using appropriate packaging, this means that the bikes when received and unfolded are ‘ready to ride’ . All 26” wheel Dahon bikes arrive in the UK in boxes with the frame unfolded but the bike partially dismantled. We have taken the decision that in order to properly achieve our highest aim and that of the responsible manufacturers with whom we liase, that we therefore, properly prepare then fold the completed bike with only the handlebar removed, it is therefore necessary for us to repackage the bike accordingly on account of it’s larger size when assembled.
